Questions
What does owner-operator software do?
It turns your paperwork into your back office. Snap or forward a rate con and it becomes a load and an invoice; upload fuel receipts and your IFTA miles and gallons tally by state; every settlement is checked against its rate con. You also see your cost per mile and profit per load, based on what you've uploaded.
How is this different from QuickBooks?
QuickBooks is built for general small business and needs setup, categories, and usually a bookkeeper. OverTheRoad.AI is built for trucking — snap a settlement or receipt and it sorts income and expenses into trucking-specific, Schedule C-ready categories. If you keep QuickBooks, our CSV/PDF exports drop right in.
Can it send invoices to brokers?
Yes. A rate confirmation becomes a load and a broker invoice you can send in a minute, with your MC#/DOT# on it. Delivered loads that never got invoiced are flagged so nothing slips.
Will it help at tax time?
Every receipt is sorted into a Schedule C category — fuel, repairs, tolls, insurance, per diem. At tax time the numbers are already organized and you can share them with your tax preparer. Tax figures are estimates based on what you've uploaded, not a filed return.
Can I see what the broker was paid?
Federal rule 49 CFR 371.3 lets a carrier request the broker's records for its own loads. We help you draft that request. Brokers decide how they respond.
Is there a free trial?
Yes — 30 days free, full access, no card to start. You only add a card if you decide to keep going after the trial; nothing is charged without one. Starter is $79/mo and Pro is $149/mo.
Do I need to be tech-savvy?
No. The core of it is snapping a photo of a document. The app reads it and files the load, invoice, expense, and IFTA miles — no spreadsheets, no data entry.
