Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the OverTheRoad.ai platform and supplements our Terms & Conditions. By using the Service, you agree to comply with this policy. Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account.

2. Prohibited Activities

You may not use OverTheRoad.ai to:

Illegal & Regulatory Violations

  • Violate any federal, state, or local law, including FMCSA, DOT, or state transportation regulations.
  • File fraudulent IFTA reports, falsify compliance records, or submit fabricated documentation.
  • Generate fraudulent invoices or misrepresent financial records.
  • Use the platform to facilitate money laundering, tax evasion, or other financial crimes.

Platform Abuse

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts, data, or any system or network connected to the Service.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the Service except through our published APIs.
  • Intentionally introduce malware, viruses, or other harmful code.
  • Overload or disrupt the Service through denial-of-service attacks or excessive API requests.
  • Circumvent rate limits, access controls, or security features.

Data Misuse

  • Upload content that contains personal information of third parties without their consent.
  • Use broker payment data or platform analytics to engage in discriminatory practices.
  • Export, scrape, or collect data from the platform for resale or competitive intelligence.
  • Store or transmit content that is defamatory, obscene, or threatening through our systems.

AI Feature Abuse

  • Attempt to manipulate the AI assistant to generate harmful, illegal, or misleading content.
  • Use AI-generated outputs (IFTA calculations, financial projections, compliance advice) as professional legal, tax, or regulatory advice without independent verification.
  • Probe or exploit the AI system to extract its training data or system prompts.

Co-Driver Restrictions

  • Attempt to use Co-Driver to access, modify, or view another user's account data.
  • Use Co-Driver to send invoices for loads not actually performed.
  • Attempt to use Co-Driver to bypass subscription feature gates through prompt manipulation.
  • Use Co-Driver to generate fraudulent compliance records or falsified documents.

Commercial Restrictions

  • Resell, sublicense, or provide access to the Service to third parties without our written consent.
  • Use the Service to operate a competing product or service.
  • Create multiple accounts to circumvent plan limits or abuse free trial offers.

3. Inbound Email Processing

OverTheRoad.ai provides a unique forwarding email address for your account (e.g., yourname@parse.overtheroad.ai). When you forward rate confirmations, BOLs, or other documents to this address:

  • The email content and attachments are processed by our AI to extract load, invoice, or compliance data.
  • You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to forward any email and its attachments to our platform.
  • Do not forward emails containing sensitive personal information of third parties (Social Security numbers, personal financial data, etc.) that is not related to your trucking business operations.
  • Forwarded emails are processed and then stored as documents within your account. They are subject to the same data retention and deletion policies as all other account data.

4. Enforcement

If we determine that you have violated this AUP, we may, at our sole discretion:

  • Issue a warning and request corrective action.
  • Temporarily suspend your access to the Service while we investigate.
  • Permanently terminate your account and delete your data, with or without notice, depending on the severity of the violation.
  • Report illegal activities to the appropriate law enforcement authorities.

We are not obligated to provide advance notice before taking enforcement action for severe violations (e.g., fraud, illegal activity, security threats).

5. Reporting Violations

If you become aware of a violation of this policy, please report it to abuse@overtheroad.ai.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
